Designing Calm Within the City

We envisioned the space as a quiet counterpoint to the dense, fast‑paced city; a place where people encounter a multitude of perceptual experiences shaped by time, light, shadow, and movement within soft boundaries. Our concept was driven by two objectives: creating a calm, grounded lounge that supports presence and restoration, while maintaining a dynamic environment that reveals new perspectives upon every visit.

Metal wires or light fixtures are made of rigid materials, yet when layered, draped, or interlaced, they behave almost like fabric, appearing translucent, delicate, and soft. This duality creates a tactile and visual gentleness that grounds the space. The porosity of the mesh creates subtle gradients of light that blur physical boundaries, fostering a sense of softness. Depending on the viewing angle, the overlapping forms and the intensity of the light change, encouraging users to remain observant and engaged with their surroundings.
