STUDIO
Atelier April is a multidisciplinary architecture and interior design studio based in New York City. Our portfolio encompasses high-end residential, commercial, cultural, and public projects, each defined by vision and purpose.
We embrace new ideas and turn them into reality.
We view new ideas as essential to realizing visions that benefit society and foster innovation.
From concept to completion, we develop our ideas through both empirical and experimental processes. This approach creates a dynamic, ever-evolving design environment.

We align ideas with phenomena.
We design spaces where our ideas unfold to shape users’ sensory and perceptual experiences. Our design aims to cultivate higher awareness and consciousness within the physical reality we create.
Collaboration drives our creative process.
By engaging clients, consultants, users, and the community, we develop designs that reflect a shared vision. Together, our creativity and imagination shape meaningful contributions that enrich society.
APRIELLE CHUNG, RA & NCARB
FOUNDING PRINCIPAL
Aprielle believes that architecture should integrate the needs of individuals and communities alongside the architect’s own insight into a vision of humanity. Growing up in a family with a unique combination of inspiring leaders, creators, and healers has cultivated her deep purpose of positive change and responsibility for the greater good of our society as an architect. Therefore, Aprielle’s design approach is shaped by a thoughtful integration of her concept and vision, harmonized with users’ spatial experiences and perceptions. Rather than designing based on preconceived ideas or styles, Aprielle seeks to achieve a unique identity and authenticity for each project.

Aprielle practiced in internationally renowned offices, including in Stararchitects’ design offices, an executive architect’s office, and an interior design office, to balance both design innovation and technical excellence in architecture and interior design. She has mostly worked in New York and Los Angeles in the United States as well as in Tokyo and Nagoya in Japan. These diverse experiences have enabled her to build a strong foundation for practicing different project types, ranging from high-end residential, commercial, and cultural projects to public projects.

Aprielle received her Master of Architecture degree from Cornell University, where she was awarded a merit-based scholarship. She was also selected as the recipient of the Joint Japanese-Korean Government Scholarship to study architecture in Japan, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Prior to studying in Japan, she attended Yonsei University, the top private university in Korea.

Aprielle Chung is a registered architect in New York and New Jersey. She is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). She speaks English, Japanese, and Korean.
